“I believe people do their best work when they have room to build lives that light them up

Business educator and coach Chelsey Hart leading a virtual business coaching session for entrepreneurs, small business owners, and professionals.

I'm a business educator, coach, late-diagnosed ADHDer, and entrepreneur with more than 13 years of experience building businesses and helping other people build theirs.

Like many of the people I work with, I didn't build my business in perfect conditions.

I built my first business while raising two kids, figuring things out one experiment at a time, and learning that sustainable growth almost always looks different than the advice we're told to follow.

After growing and selling that business in 2019, my work shifted toward helping other entrepreneurs build businesses of their own.

Today, I coach entrepreneurs, create and facilitate business education, work with business centres to support the entrepreneurs in their communities, and review provincial grant applications.

What I've learned is simple:

There is no single right way to build a business.

People don't need another rigid blueprint, productivity hack, or marketing trend to chase.

They need practical education, thoughtful questions, and space to build businesses that reflect their strengths, values, goals, and lives.

That belief is behind everything I create — from coaching conversations and business education to The Business Guidebook.

Because when more people can do meaningful work, support themselves, and build lives that light them up, I believe the world gets better.

You don’t need to have everything figured out to build a business.

Why I do this work

Business coach Chelsey Hart during an online coaching session, reflecting a collaborative approach to entrepreneurship, practical business education, and sustainable business growth.

I believe everyone has a spark — the things that make them curious, creative, and excited about the work they do.

And I think business can either give that spark more room to grow, or slowly snuff it out.

I know what it feels like to build a business while also raising kids, paying bills, managing everything happening outside of work, and trying to figure things out as you go.

I've also seen what can happen when a business starts working for the person who built it.

It can create income and stability. More choice over your time. Space to do work you genuinely care about. The ability to employ people, support your community, try interesting things, and build a life that looks a little more like your own.

That's what makes this work interesting to me.

I don't want to help people build businesses that look successful on paper but make their lives miserable.

I want to help people understand business well enough to make thoughtful decisions about what they're building, why they're building it, and what they want it to make possible.

Because when more people can do meaningful work, support themselves, and build lives that light them up, I believe the world gets better.

Real Life Is Celebrated Here

Business coach Chelsey Hart taking notes during a virtual coaching session, combining practical business education with personalized support for entrepreneurs and small business owners.

Businesses are built by humans, not robots.

Around here, real life is part of the conversation.

Sometimes there's a dog barking, a kid saying hello, someone joining from their car between appointments, or a plan changing because life happened.

That doesn't get in the way of meaningful work.

Because business decisions are connected to real lives — our energy, responsibilities, values, goals, relationships, and what we're trying to make possible.

Whether we meet through coaching, business learning, or a conversation online, my hope is the same:

To create spaces where you can ask questions, explore ideas, and figure out what makes sense for your business and the life you're building.

I'll bring thoughtful questions, practical business education, and years of entrepreneurship experience.

You bring your business, your ideas, and your life as it actually is.

I believe meaningful work and financial sustainability can exist together.

Ready when you are

Maybe you have a decision you're trying to make, an idea you want to work through, something that isn't going the way you expected, or you're just not quite sure what makes sense from here.

A coffee chat is a low-pressure place to start.

We'll talk about what's happening in your business, what you're hoping to figure out, and whether I might be the right person to help.

There's no pitch and no expectation that we'll work together. If I'm not the right fit, I'll happily point you toward someone or something that might be.

Book a time that works for you, grab your favorite drink, and let's talk about what's happening in your business.
